AGUAS IS ... 

A refreshing survival game.

THE SCENE

It's a hot summer day, people are looking for some refreshment. It's the perfect time for AGUAS FRESCAS . There's different flavors for any mood, like Limon y Chia, Jamaica, Agua de Fresa, Horchata, Melon, and other yummy imaginings.  But are the Agua Frescas running out ? New ingredients will have to be used to make a new Agua Fresca. 

How did you get caught up in this mess?

Pero aguas! Play to escape the different aguas frescas before it's too late. Navigate dangerous but yummy terrains!

HOW TO ESCAPE?

Drag and release to jump. If you collide with a platform, you attach to it! However, ice disappears shortly after you leave. Get the power-up by climbing up the jug! You may need to collect more than one. Once fully powered, your jump becomes a super jump! Use this to escape!

BACKGROUND 

This game is our submission to the Con Latinidad 2023 game jam.  As a daughter of Mexican immigrants living in the U.S, my Latinidad is fluid, evolving, and non-traditional. This is more present in the multicultural hub of Los Angeles, where my community fuses different Latin American countries. We often share food and culture through our Latinidad. Even with geographical distance and time, one thing remains constant: food. Food helps me feel connected to my culture and allows me to share a connection with my community. Embracing the realization that my Latinidad differs from that of my parents and family residing in Mexico, and choosing instead to celebrate those differences. I chose to focus on Aguas Frescas because it's something that I grew up with and have seen over the years be shared within my Latino community. 

I have so much appreciation for the different types of flavors and colors. They bring a lively atmosphere to any environment. I wanted to showcase that within a game to celebrate their colors and joy.  :)  - Bryanna

10/18/23 Update:

• Increased loading and general performance
• Reduced file size
• Fixed Android render size
• Added Android icon
• Fixed inaccurate collision shapes
• Fixed improper scaling of some platforms
• Balance changes
• Added "Quick Restart" button

I've also noticed that Godot4 doesn't run great on browsers unless hardware acceleration is enabled. So in case the game was running at a low framerate for you, try seeing if this setting is enabled. Thanks for playing!
